Tanzania is one of the world’s poorest countries. With a population of 50 million, more than a third of households live below the basic requirements poverty line. Nearly 3 Tanzanians out of 10 live in poverty, and 1 in 3 is illiterate.

Approximately 12 million Tanzanians still live in extreme poverty on earnings of less than 50pence per day. Tanzania is inclined to to both natural and man-made hazards including drought, floods, earthquakes and upsurges that affect livelihoods, destroy infrastructure and cause food shortages and severe health problems leading to death.

Poverty leads to hunger. Roughly 42 percent of children under five in Tanzania suffer from chronic malnutrition and 16 percent are underweight.

By making a donation today you can help to support vulnerable Tanzanian children and families. Your Donation counts!
